Ilhan Omar has once again proven she has no business lecturing anyone on ANYTHING. After attacking President Trump for not immediately confirming he would attend his son’s wedding abroad, Omar called him the “worst parent in the world.”
This is the same woman who has spent years dodging serious questions about her own family.
Her father, Colonel Nur Omar Mohamed, served as a senior officer in Siad Barre’s military regime during the Isaaq Genocide — a brutal campaign that slaughtered tens of thousands of Isaaq civilians through bombings, executions, and scorched-earth tactics. He remained in that regime until it collapsed.
Matthew 7:3-5 (KJV) “And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.”
Omar loves to play moral authority on values when it suits her politically. But when the spotlight turns to her own background — a father who served a genocidal regime, allegations of fraud, demonizing Christians, defending affirmation mental illnesses, and being in a marriage with her brother; the list goes on and she has nothing to say. She dismisses claims against her and calls those who raise them “disgusting, racist, xenophobic, and bigoted” rather than offering any substantive denial or evidence. Or rather, she ignores them entirely in some cases insulted the person trying to address the claims. These is the same tactics she uses whenever questions arise about her past or ventures.
How long will Congress and the media continue giving Ilhan Omar a pass on questions that would land anyone else in prison for centuries?
